Danièle says “This is a by-product of French social policies of the late 60’s and a desire to welcome both foreign groups for long-term stays (language learning) and professionals for short stays and not just be a Youth Hostel. Rooms go from individual rooms with ensuites to 6-bed dorms with their own ensuite or bathroom in the corridor. Small desk Wi-Fi everywhere, buffet breakfast, cafeteria for lunch and dinner at reasonable cost by Paris standards, various activities, night club on weekends, but also meeting rooms, small garden, table tennis and table football, and a full bar. On a tucked away street but still ask for a room NOT on the street. Excellent location in the 14th arrondissement (district) with 3 metro stops minutes away on line 6 as well as the bus and train (RER) going to both Paris airports.”

Hôtel Des Marronniers
Saint-Germain-des-Près
Laura recommends Hôtel Des Marronniers which is located in a quiet courtyard in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Près. It is a 3-star hotel dating from the Henri IV period and offers an interior garden. Rooms at Des Marronniers have different colour themes and feature wooden furniture. Breakfast is served in the guests’ room, on the Napoleon III veranda or under the chestnut trees in the quiet garden. Saint-Germain-des-Prés Metro Station is a 4-minute walk away, which provides access to sights such as Notre Dame Cathedral.

Hôtel Taylor

Brenda recommends Hôtel Taylor and says “I stayed in a small, clean & friendly boutique hotel in a room with bathtub at Hôtel Taylor in the 10th arr. (edge of 3rd arr.) as it was close to the apartment I was about to rent, close to Canal St Martin … I walked daily to Louvre or Pompidou Centre or Musee D’Orsay, etc.”

Dianne says “I love the Hotel du Petit Moulin in the Marais. It is charming and right in that price range. It’s very unique and they have great info on their website.” Filles du Calvaire Metro Station is only a 5-minute walk away and it offers direct access to the Eiffel Tower and Opéra Garnier.

Saint-Germain-des-Pres district
Anne Reccomends La Perle hotel. La Perle is in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, just a 10-minute walk from Saint Michel and Notre-Dame Cathedral. It offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi access, a courtyard and a bar.

Hotel & Spa St Jacques
Latin Quarter
Kathy says “In Paris, I like the Hotel St. Jacques in the Latin Quarter. Small, boutique hotel, great location.” Saint Jacques’ location makes it an ideal base for exploring Paris. It is just 1 minute on foot from the Maubert–Mutualite Metro (line 10) and Boulevard Saint-Germain. The Gallo-Roman amphitheater, Arenes de Lutece, is 1969 feet away.

Odeon Hotel
Latin District
Penny recommends the Odeon Hotel. This hotel is ideally located to explore Paris. Notre-Dame Cathedral, Chatelet les Halles and Saint-Germain-des-Prés district are within walking distance. Odeon metro station and Notre-Dame RER train station are just a short walk and lead directly to Montparnasse train station and Versailles.

Ariana recommends Hôtel des Grands Hommes which is Set in an 18th-century building opposite the Panthéon, this hotel is 1312 feet from the Luxembourg Garden. Hôtel des Grands Hommes Panthéon is 2297 feet from Place Monge Metro Station, providing access to the Louver Museum. The Botanic Garden is a 10-minute walk away.

Le Meurice
Central Paris
Vicki says “Love Le Meurice…stayed there in 81′ on my hooneymoon., great hotel. Of course, at that time France was 7 to 1 US$.” Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysées are a 5-minute walk away, and the Louvre Museum is just 1969 feet from the hotel. Tuileries Metro station is 328 feet away, giving direct access to the Bastille and La Defense.

Saint-Germain-des-Pres district
Carolyn recommends Hotel des 2 Continents and says it’s “Very central and easy walking distance to all main attractions, museums and metro. Just down the street from Cafe de Flores. Breakfast is an additional cost but I always found a cafe nearby. I booked on Expedia to get a deal and don’t regret it at all. A very quiet area as well – slept with the windows open, on the second floor!”
